Why do I need a Registered Agent?
If you have physical address of home or office in the state where you form your LLC or Company, you may not require Registered Agent. However, it is advisable to have a have registered in order to protect your privacy as your home address would be displayed publically.

What is Foreign Qualification and why is it important?
In the US, every state incorporates and maintain their company as well as LLCs as per their state laws. Incorporation is a state’s business and only Taxation is a federal subject under US constitutional arrangements.
Hence, in order to carry out business in the other state, your business should qualify in that jurisdiction. In some states, state franchise taxes, state income tax or sale taxes maybe applicable.
Additionally, if your business crosses certain threshold in Total sales or has employees from a particular state, you would be forced to register your business in that state i.e Foreign Qualification in order to pay their respective taxes as applicable for your entity.
